T20 Finals - Posted 18th August 2025
Concluding the 31 games played, a successful finals day (see summary below), took part at South Weald CC, Sandpit Lane.
Summary of Finals Day
The first-ever finals day of the competition did not disappoint. From start to finish, there was great support and a brilliant atmosphere around the ground. We were even treated to a super over in the semi-final between Hutton and Brentwood. I’m already looking forward to next year’s edition.
Semi-Final 1: South Weald vs Wickford
South Weald batted first but didn’t quite post enough runs to put Wickford under real pressure. Wickford began steadily, and while South Weald chipped away with wickets, a few big overs from Wickford swung the game. Wickford sealed victory by 4 wickets in the 18.4th over, booking their place in the Final.

Semi-Final 2: Hutton vs Brentwood
Hutton set a competitive target with the bat before Brentwood came out flying, looking well ahead of the rate. However, some tight bowling and regular wickets brought Hutton right back into it. The match ended in a tie, taking us to a Super Over. Brentwood batted first and posted 6, but Hutton held their nerve to chase it down – securing their spot in the Final in dramatic fashion!

The Final: Wickford vs Hutton
With a great crowd gathered, the stage was set for a memorable Final. Wickford batted first and piled on the runs, finishing with an impressive 195 – a total that always looked challenging to chase. Hutton gave it a real go, but Wickford’s bowling attack kept things under control, and Hutton eventually fell just short, finishing around 50 runs behind.
Adam Deller was named the Finals Day MVP for his standout performance.
